I recently was redecorating and had one of my favorite images resized in a larger format. I took this image back in 2012 when we had a small magnolia tree in a corner of our yard. That tree has been gone for years now, but before it left us, I captured this gorgeous bloom. I ended up editing it in Photoshop using HDR. (High-dynamic range helps to reproduce a greater dynamic range of luminosity than what is possible with standard digital imaging or photographic techniques.) For some reason this image just really speaks to me and I love how the enhanced light is balanced with the detailed blemishes. At first glance you see the beauty and then you notice the dry curled edges and dark creases, you see that one petal is shaped just a little differently than the others. Despite those blemishes, the flower is still radiant.
